DENTIST Dr. Joe McEnhill, owner of Grange Dental Care, said the breach occurred on Thursday morning and resulted in fraudulent emails being sent from the practice’s system, with emails requesting invoices to be paid at 9.50am. He explained that the issue was identified quickly and the practice’s IT provider was contacted immediately to prevent further damage. Once alerted, they contacted their IT company, who put a halt to everything and began an investigation.
Initial findings suggest the attack originated overseas. DataBreaches commends Dr. McEnhill for his incident response and, according to The Impartial Reporter, wishes him and his patients all the best.
