Given the rising threats of impersonation, fake jobs, and various scams via WhatsApp, this feature examines incoming messages for scam-related patterns. While it does not block messages, it alerts users to be cautious when engaging with unknown senders. Notably, the feature may not catch scams originating from compromised contacts.
Users can block, report, or mark messages as trusted based on the alerts. This is part of Meta's broader anti-scam initiative across its platforms. The feature is in limited beta testing with plans for a wider rollout.
