U.K.: Two arrested over cyber attack which stole thousands of nursery children’s data

Two men aged 17 and 22 were arrested in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, on suspicion of computer misuse and blackmail, in connection with the Kido nursery chain cyberattack. It was reported that cyberhackers used the pictures and names of about 8,000 nursery children to demand ransom money. The arrests followed a claim that information about thousands of children had been stolen from the nursery group. The story, which itvX covered, notes that those in custody remain for questioning by the Metropolitan Police. According to itvX, the incident involves hackers exploiting the data of thousands of children to coerce payment.
