THE FulcrumSec extortion group has claimed responsibility for a data breach at Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which operates the largest airports in the UK. Disclosed on August 27, the breach involved the theft of data from a third-party database, affecting potentially 8.7 million customers, compromising their email addresses, phone numbers, vehicle registrations, and postcodes, but no payment data was accessed.
MAG assured that customer safety and operational activities remained unaffected, as they took measures to contain the risk and work with relevant authorities. FulcrumSec, known for other high-profile hacks, is threatening to leak the stolen data.
