MediaTek Unveils Dimensity 9500, a New King for Mobile AI and Gaming
MediaTek has officially unveiled the Dimensity 9500, its flagship computing platform built on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm (N3P) process, featuring an all-big-core CPU architecture and a dual-NPU AI computing engine. The CPU configuration consists of one C1-Ultra super-core at 4.21GHz, three C1-Premium super-cores at 3.50GHz, and four C1-Pro performance cores at 2.70GHz, with a four-channel UFS 4.1 storage system that doubles read/write speeds and improves large language model loading speeds by 40%.
In testing, GeekBench V6.4 scores hit 4007 for single-core and 11216 for multi-core, while power efficiency improvements include a 37% reduction in multi-core power consumption and 55% less power at equivalent performance for the super-core, plus 10% further savings from dynamic voltage adjustment. The new Mali G1-Ultra GPU delivers a 33% uplift in performance and 42% lower power use, with ray tracing improving by 119% and 3DMark Solar Bay Extreme scoring 2573.
The Dimensity 9500 also introduces Dynamic Cache technology and Frame Rate Converter 3.0, and supports Unreal Engine 5.6 MegaLights and 5.5 Nanite, bringing console-grade visuals to mobile, alongside imaging enhancements like a 200MP-capable Imagiq 1190 ISP and 4K 120FPS video recording. The first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9500 are expected in the fourth quarter of 2025, with vivo set to lead the rollout through its X300 series, which is set to be unveiled in October.
