Microsoft Warns Windows 11 23H2 Support Ending in 60 Days
Microsoft has issued an urgent reminder that Windows 11 22H2 will reach end of support in 60 days, with October 14, 2025 the deadline when critical security updates will cease for Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions.
According to Microsoft, after this date devices running these versions will no longer receive monthly security patches or preview updates containing protections against emerging cybersecurity threats, creating significant security vulnerabilities for organisations that fail to upgrade in time. The upgrade path recommended is to migrate to Windows 11’s latest version, 24H2, to maintain security coverage and access new features, with the lifecycle policy emphasising that the end-of-servicing deadline is firm.
The guidance also notes that extended security updates are available for those unable to complete immediate upgrades, though these come with additional costs and complexity. Organisations are encouraged to plan migration, test compatibility, and train IT staff, using Microsoft’s lifecycle policy resources to understand specific upgrade requirements and timelines.
