Iran-Linked Hackers Target More US Water Infrastructure in New Jersey and Alabama

IRANIAN-LINKED hackers have targeted water infrastructure in New Jersey and Alabama, escalating a series of cyberattacks across at least 12 states since July. Notably, the City of Cape May and the Borough of Woodbine reported simultaneous attacks, which did not affect water quality or services. These hackers targeted industrial control systems from major vendors like Rockwell Automation. In the same timeframe, Alabama's Childersburg Water system was also attacked but faced no service disruption. The FBI confirmed attacks in multiple states, urging utilities to remove systems from direct internet exposure to enhance security.
