Hilton Central School District – Audit Follow-Up (2022M-200-F)
According to NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, the Hilton Central School District’s follow-up audit, issued 5 December 2025, assessed progress in implementing recommendations from the 2022 audit on Network Access Controls as of August 2025. The review found that district officials did not ensure network access controls were adequately managed and that there were sensitive IT control weaknesses, which increased the risk of unauthorized access, misuse or data loss to PPSI.
Three recommendations from the public audit report were not fully implemented; the Board of Education, District officials and the Director of Technology partially implemented all three, leaving the district’s network at continued elevated risk. The audit also noted that progress on the confidentially reported weaknesses was reviewed, but results were again communicated confidentially to officials.
The Hilton Central School District serves the Towns of Clarkson, Greece, Hamlin and Parma in Monroe County and is governed by a seven-member Board of Education, with the Superintendent as chief executive officer.
