Massive IDScan Data Breach Reported

IDSCAN , a major identity verification provider, suffered a severe data breach where hackers are selling 153 million stolen identity documents, including driver’s licenses, ID cards, and passports, primarily from users in the U.S. and Canada. The hacker, known as NEXUS, claims to have extracted this data over several years and is selling it on a Russian cybercrime forum. Experts have verified the authenticity of the documents, with investigations confirming the type of scanned documents involved.

The database reportedly exceeds 30TB in volume, raising concerns about IDScan's security measures. The FBI has initiated a formal investigation into the breach, which could facilitate identity theft and fraud. IDScan is currently collaborating with legal and cybersecurity firms to address the breach.
