HOSPITALS are being urged to address a critical flaw in BeyondTrust Remote Support and Privileged Remote Access software that could let an attacker foothold a corporate network, according to industry officials and U.S. federal authorities. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued an alert on 13 February 2026, urging healthcare and public health organisations to review and fix the vulnerability in light of rising cyberattacks targeting the sector.

The flaw has been added to the known exploited vulnerabilities catalogue by the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the entry was updated on Friday to warn that ransomware hackers have begun exploiting it; the vulnerability is tracked as CVE-2026-1731. Read more at Healthcare InfoSecurity. The report notes that federal agencies were given three days to remediate the issue after it was catalogued.
