IN July 2026, ransomware attacks increased by 19% compared to June, particularly impacting finance (71%), technology (62%), and healthcare (46%) sectors. A total of 799 ransomware attacks were reported, marking the second highest monthly total for the year after a period of relative calm in the previous months. Notable incidents include attacks on US healthcare provider AnMad and Romania's land registry agency, resulting in significant operational disruptions. Comparitech's analysis also noted that The Gentlemen and Qilin groups dominated the ransomware landscape, together responsible for 33% of the attacks.
