CLOUDFLARE has announced three new open‑source products that integrate server routing, typed data access, and Cloudflare deployment into a unified Vite workflow, under the banner of Void. The Void Platform provides a shared deployment environment for teams to host Void apps on Cloudflare, the Void SDK offers a composable JavaScript toolkit for building full‑stack apps with Vite, and the Void CLI handles provisioning resources and deploying apps.
All three are distributed as a single JavaScript package and Vite plugin that can be installed with npm install void. The aim is to allow developers to build server and client together, carry types from the database to the UI, and have Void automatically provision the Cloudflare resources an app uses.
The approach centres on a fully open‑source Void Platform that can be self‑hosted and adapted to a company’s needs, including integration with Workers for Platforms, PostgreSQL, login providers, and a suitable domain. Admins can control access, set resource limits, inspect deployments, and enforce guardrails via the Void CLI or admin dashboard.
The Void SDK makes a Vite app into a full‑stack Cloudflare Workers app, with features such as file‑based API routing, automatic resource provisioning (databases, queues, AI bindings), and optional adapters for frameworks like React and Vue. The article includes example code showing how to define server handlers and client pages, and notes that Void’s deployment workflow can provision D1 databases automatically and deploy directly to Cloudflare.
