THE U.S. Departments of Justice and Homeland Security have seized the domains CFake.com and SOCFake.com due to their involvement in nonconsensual intimate deepfakes, as enforced under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, which criminalizes such publications. The seizure included the arrest of an alleged operator in France, where around 300,000 images and 7,000 videos were found. The authorities are also pursuing cases against other individuals for similar offenses, with notable cases emerging in the U.S. and Australia.

Despite these actions, the prevalence of deepfakes continues to rise, with a significant increase in incidents reported. Victims are advised to maintain evidence and can seek support from organizations dedicated to combating non-consensual material.
