APOLLO Global Management has reported a data breach resulting from a social engineering attack that exposed sensitive personal information, including names, contact details, and Social Security Numbers (SSNs). The breach occurred between July 6 and 10, 2026, and although the investigation is ongoing, the firm found no evidence of the compromised data being used for fraud. Affected individuals are being offered identity protection and credit monitoring services.

The breach is believed to be linked to a cybercrime group known as UNC6671 and BlackFile, which has targeted several organizations in the private equity and financial sectors, though Apollo is the only confirmed victim so far. The hacking group was reported to have received over $10 million in Bitcoin ransom payments in recent months.
