ASYMPTOTE Labs has raised $5.5 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round to build security tools for enterprise AI agents. Tower Research Ventures led the investment, with Lytical Ventures, 1984 Ventures and South Park Commons also participating. The company said it will use the money for product development, engineering recruitment and sales and marketing.
The founders, chief executive Justin D’Souza and chief technology officer Shukan Shah, previously built defences at Doppel. They say security teams have limited visibility into autonomous tools that can access sensitive corporate data. Asymptote’s open-source Beacon telemetry layer collects and standardises activity from more than 20 agent harnesses, including Cursor, Codex and Claude Code, using a data model that extends the OpenTelemetry framework.
A commercial enterprise platform sits above Beacon and is designed to monitor and control agent activity in real time. It can apply policy guardrails to prompts and tool execution, steering agents away from unsafe behaviour and blocking risky actions before they happen. The article describes the platform’s intended capabilities; it does not report a security incident or provide evidence of deployments or tested outcomes.
