When “Goodbye” isn’t the end: Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters hack on
DataBreaches[.]net reports that the so‑called goodbye message from the Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters appears not to have ended their activity, with debate over whether ShinyHunters/Scattered Spider groups truly retired.
The originally posted goodbye on breachforums[.]hn was later reproduced by DataBreaches[.]net, which highlighted a line suggesting some would continue to study and improve systems “in silence.” DataBreaches notes continued activity on Telegram and a lingering sense that not all members agreed on retirement, while observers question whether the group’s actions extend into the financial sector or aviation targets.
The piece also references recent airline and airport incidents, including the use of Collins Aerospace’s Multi-User System Environment (MUSE) software, which RTX confirmed suffered a cyber‑related incident without disclosing whether ransomware was involved. While ShinyCorp offered “no comment” on specific incidents, DataBreaches says it will pursue confirmation from other sources as the situation evolves.
