FLORIDA-BASED AI-native compliance and security startup Comp AI has raised $34 million in a Series A funding round, taking its total funding to more than $36 million. Founded in January 2025, the company develops a governance, risk and compliance (GRC) automation platform designed to reduce manual work and help organisations respond to changing requirements.
Comp AI says its platform uses organisational context and agentic AI to automate tasks including customer onboarding, evidence collection, policy generation, control monitoring and assessments. The company plans to use the new investment to expand into continuous cybersecurity, adding real-time monitoring and control validation across applications and infrastructure. The round was led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures.
The funding will also support hiring in customer success, engineering, marketing, operations, product and sales, with recruitment planned in Miami and New York. CEO and co-founder Lewis Carhart said the company aims to move beyond software that merely tracks compliance work towards a platform that can understand business context, perform compliance tasks and respond as risk changes.
The article does not report a breach, confirmed exploitation or a specific vulnerability; it describes Comp AI’s planned product expansion and use of the investment.
