THE United States government is offering a reward of up to $10 million for actionable intelligence on Amir Yaryab, a key figure in Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) cyber operations. Yaryab leads several operational units and commands affiliated groups, including CyberAv3ngers, which have conducted cyberattacks targeting vital infrastructure worldwide.
Notably, these hackers compromised at least 75 Unitronics programmable logic controllers in U.S. water treatment facilities by exploiting security flaws. The state Department's Rewards for Justice program is actively seeking information that could lead to identifying or locating individuals involved in malicious cyber operations against U.S. critical infrastructure.
