HACKERS threaten to publish data from Odido breaches unless the Dutch telecom pays, with the group alleging up to 8 million customers and 21 million data lines stolen. The cybercriminal group Shinyhunters is responsible for hacking Odido, and according to RTL Nieuws they confirmed to RTL Nieuws that it was behind the hack and have shown evidence. They warn on the dark web that they will leak the stolen customer data, including names, addresses, bank account numbers and passport numbers.

Odido says 6.2 million customers are affected, while Shinyhunters claims to have stolen more data, calling Odido’s figures false and saying it affects 8 million customers. Odido revealed the breach on 12 February 2026, after discovering it the weekend of 7–8 February. Paying extortionists is discouraged by law enforcement, and the article notes the threat also includes “several annoying (digital) problems” without specifying whether this means a DDoS attack or other issues.
