TWO members of Scattered Spider, Thalha Jubair and Owen Flowers, have pleaded guilty to charges related to a significant cyber attack on Transport for London (TfL) that caused three months of disruption, resulting in a £39 million loss. Their change of plea occurred just before a scheduled six-week trial at Woolwich Crown Court. The attack, which began on August 31, 2024, affected around 10 million customers.
Additionally, Flowers pleaded guilty to attempting to hack Sutter Health and SSM Healthcare Corporation in the U.S. Both individuals were previously arrested and charged in connection with attacks on Marks & Spencer, Harrods, and Co-op Group, while separate charges against Jubair include conspiracy and fraud-related offenses.
