THE ShinyHunters extortion group has taken responsibility for a recent data breach at Ernst & Young (EY), where personal and financial information from a third-party service management platform was stolen. This included sensitive data such as client names, Social Security numbers, and financial details. EY has alerted multiple state Attorney General's Offices and offered affected individuals two years of free credit and identity monitoring services.
ShinyHunters has threatened to release the stolen data unless contact is made by July 31. This group has a history of orchestrating similar high-profile breaches.
