ShinyHunters leaks 4.9M Charter records after ransom ignored

A cybercrime group known as ShinyHunters leaked data from Charter Communications after the company allegedly refused to pay a ransom. The leaked records include around 4.9 million unique email addresses, names, phone numbers, and physical addresses, along with a smaller set of employee directory information. Charter Communications confirmed the breach but stated that no sensitive personal information was exfiltrated and that they are cooperating with authorities. ShinyHunters is known for targeting large organizations and has a history of using extortion tactics after data theft attempts fail.
