MEDTRONIC has notified over 3.8 million individuals about a data breach where personal and medical information was compromised. The breach, attributed to the extortion group ShinyHunters, occurred in April 2026, involving the theft of over 9 million records. Medtronic confirmed that while its core operations were unaffected, hackers stole sensitive data like names, contact details, and Social Security numbers.
The company is providing affected individuals with 24 months of free credit monitoring and has implemented additional cybersecurity measures. They have no evidence that the stolen information was made public.
