THE cybercrime group ShinyHunters has claimed responsibility for a significant data breach involving the Council of Europe, threatening to leak approximately 297GB of stolen data unless their demands are met by June 16. The breach consists of over 429,000 files, including more than 409,000 payslips, 14,000 CVs, and 3,700 internal HR files, affecting more than 10,000 individuals connected to the organization.

The data covers periods from 2011 to 2026 and contains sensitive information such as personal identification details, salaries, and bank information. As of June 14, ShinyHunters has issued a final warning regarding the leak, while the Council of Europe has not confirmed or denied the breach.
