SHINYHUNTERS claim the hack of Rockstar Games breach and started leaking data, with an 8.1GB data leak reportedly linked to Rockstar Games. The dataset, obtained via Anodot, includes anti-cheat source code, player analytics, game data, Zendesk ticket feeds and financial information. The group asserts they gained access to Rockstar-related systems hosted through a third-party cloud provider and threatened to publish sensitive internal data unless terms were met.

Rockstar Games has publicly minimised the impact, saying only a limited amount of non-sensitive corporate information was accessed and that neither its operations nor its player community were affected. Security researchers note that ShinyHunters and similar groups are increasingly targeting external cloud environments to bypass stronger internal protections.

The incident follows a previous breach in 2022–2023 linked to the Lapsus$ collective, underscoring the evolving threat landscape facing major digital entertainment companies.
