The breach may have exposed personal information including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and dental health data. In response, DentaQuest is notifying impacted individuals and has engaged cybersecurity experts to evaluate the situation. The company is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and identity theft recovery services to those affected.
The hacking group ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for the incident, publishing significant amounts of data on a dark web leak site after failing to negotiate a ransom.
