NISSAN has reported a data breach linked to a zero-day exploit targeting Oracle PeopleSoft, which it uses for employee management. The breach potentially affects current and former employees across the US, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, compromising sensitive data such as Social Security numbers and banking information. The ShinyHunters hacker group is suspected to be behind this campaign, which has targeted over 100 organizations, though Nissan is not currently listed among the victims.
Other known victims include the University of Nottingham and NAIC. Nissan has faced multiple cyber threats previously, including claims from the Everest ransomware group.
